Tutor Requirements
✓ Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with at least 2 years’ experience
✓ Self-employed - all tutors are responsible for their own tax recording and contributions
✓ Ability to adapt to the needs of our learners by building trust and meaninful relationships
✓ Positive, reliable, and engaging teaching style
✓ Minimum 2 hours weekly availability (including evenings or weekends)
✓ Right to work in the UK
✓ Enhanced DBS and on the Update Service
✓ Strong internet connection and suitable online teaching setup

Will I be employed by AdaptEd Tuition?
No — tutors work on a self-employed basis and are responsible for their own tax registration.
How do tutors get paid?
Invoices are submitted monthly via Tutorcruncher, with payment made directly via bank transfer.
Is a DBS check required?
Yes — an Enhanced DBS is required (dated within the last 12 months and on the Update Service). Support is available, but the cost is the tutor’s responsibility.
Do I need to be a qualified teacher?
Yes — all tutors must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
What equipment is needed for online tutoring?
A laptop or PC, stable internet connection, webcam, and microphone are required. A writing tablet is recommended.
Which platform do I teach on?
Lessons are hosted through TutorCruncher and PencilSpaces.
How is communication with parent/carers handled?
Lesson updates are shared through Tutorcruncher, tutors may also use designated WhatsApp groups where applicable.
