Our Leadership Team
Hayley Rollings & Gary Essex
Our leadership team consists of highly experienced primary and secondary educators who specialise in SEND, and this ensures our provision remains aligned with current legislation, best practice, neuro-affirming and trauma-informed approaches.

Hayley Rollings
Company Director
I am a qualified teacher and SENDCO with over 25 years of experience working with children and young people from EYFS to Year 11.
My career has included roles as Deputy Headteacher, Acting Headteacher, SEND Specialist Teacher, and lead teacher in an inclusive provision. I also run a SEND Consultancy business, supporting schools, families, and pupils with a wide range of additional needs.
I am passionate about removing barriers to learning and helping every pupil reach their potential. Specialising in SEND, medical needs, and alternative provision, I provide personalised, neuro-affirming education that builds confidence, engagement, and success.
Whether teaching online or in person, I create nurturing environments where pupils feel safe, understood, and empowered to thrive.
My approach is calm, supportive, and relationship-focused, with high expectations for both learning and personal development.
As a Director of AdaptED Tuition, I am excited to work alongside Gary and our talented team of tutors to provide personalised, neuro-affirming education that helps every child and young person feel understood, valued, and able to thrive.
Outside of teaching, I enjoy live music, walking my black Labrador Monty, spending time with family and friends, and watching football and Formula 1.

Gary Essex
Company Director
I am the Director of Adapted Tuition, bringing over 18 years of experience in secondary education and more than 10 years of successful private tutoring.
Throughout my teaching career, I have taught Mathematics, Business Studies and Food Technology, working with students of all abilities from primary age through to adults. My passion has always been helping learners build confidence, overcome barriers and achieve their full potential. As a former Head of Faculty, Subject Leader and House Leader, I have led teams, developed curriculum provision and supported students both academically and personally.
Mathematics has been a particular area of focus throughout my career, with a proven track record of helping students improve their attainment and secure key qualifications. I have successfully supported many learners in achieving at least a Grade 4 in GCSE Mathematics, opening doors to further education, apprenticeships and future career opportunities.
Alongside my educational career, I have also run my own business, Essex Bakery, for over 16 years. This experience allows me to bring practical, real-world applications into my teaching, helping students understand how mathematical and business concepts are used beyond the classroom.
I hold a First-Class Honours Degree in Business Management and am committed to delivering high-quality, personalised learning that meets the individual needs of every student.
Through Adapted Tuition, my goal is to provide expert tutoring and connect families with skilled tutors who share the same commitment to student success.
Outside of work, I am a proud husband and father to two daughters. I enjoy following football, playing pool and spending time with my family.
At Adapted Tuition, we believe that every learner can succeed with the right support, encouragement and guidance.
